Wild places

I have always been drawn to wild places; places stark and perhaps a bit dangerous. They call to me whether in the soft symphony of waves crashing against the shore, the wind whistling through high mountain peaks, or the simple solitude of a desert sunrise.I just can't help but be humbled by the raw beauty of our world and the lessons it has to give.

Perhaps it is that in the insulated environment of modern life, we simply don'tinteract with nature as we once did.Maybe it because wild places are becoming more and more scarce as our species crowds the planet.Whatever the case, the natural world seems farther away than ever and is under a constant assault from a plethora of issues including pollution, overuse of resources and more.

It is for precisely these reasons though, that we need nature now more than ever.To remind us of the beauty all around us, or simply to let us know that we are still alive. It is in these wild places that we truly find ourselves, when we feel the Earth's energy surge through our bodies and seep into our spirits. It calls to us all, reminding us that a little wildness resides deep within each of us too.
